Good news!
I had my 39 week doctor's appointment today and everything is going great! A nurse called me yesterday to set up a possible induction day...and scheduled it for March 9th...a week after my March 2nd due date. But, during my appointment today, the doctor decided to change that! So the good news is that if I don't have the baby in the next few days, I will be induced on Tuesday, March 3rd! Hooray! Baby Bennett will definitely be here in less than a week! We will be sure to keep you posted!!

Our new Niece!
As most of you know, my sister Sherry and I have been pregnant at the same time, with our due dates a month apart...my due date March 2nd and Sherry's April 1st. Due to some complications, Sherry has been on bed rest for the past 3 weeks and stayed in the hospital for 2 of the 3 weeks. This last week, Sherry was able to leave the hospital and stay at my parent's house because it was closest to the hospital. Yesterday morning, Sherry called and asked me to take her to the hospital...and a few hours later we welcomed Emma Kate Kastel into the world! Both mom and baby are doing well. Since Emma was about 5 weeks early, she is currently in the NICU. Tonight when we visited her, we were happy to see that she was breathing without any assistance! She will probably be there for a few weeks gaining her strength and Sherry will be leaving the hospital on Thursday. Matt and I are so excited to have such a darling niece!

The final touch...
Today we put our final touch on the baby's room...the mobile! This may not seem like a very hard task, but if you know me at all and know how indecisive I am, this was a pretty tough call. I came up empty handed after looking at Target and Babies 'R Us for a mobile, so I started looking online. If you have never visited the website etsy.com, I strongly recommend it! Etsy is full of handmade art, jewelry, etc. It's kind of like ebay, only there are thousands of real artists from all over the world selling their items...and there is some AWESOME stuff on there! Matt and I had great luck purchasing our wall decals from an artist on Etsy (see pics below), so when we started looking at mobiles we found several that we loved! We decided on this felt elephant mobile after several days or so of deliberation and we had it custom made in our nursery colors. We received it earlier this week and we are thrilled with how it turned out! Obviously it is not your every day baby mobile...no lights, no music, no mirrors, etc. Instead it is a little piece of art that is the perfect icing on the cake for what we think is our perfect little nursery.

Just a few more days...
Well, with just 12 days left (or less!) until we meet our little dude, Matt and I have been pretty busy making sure everything is ready for Bennett's big arrival! Every week I seem to be adding more and more to the to do list. I guess you could say that I am an expert at nesting...or I just really love crossing things off of lists. Either way, when it comes to cleaning out closets, doing laundry, organizing everything in our house and potentially painting a bathroom this weekend (don't worry, the doctor is fine with it), I'd say that our house is pretty much ready to go! Of course Matt and I are ready to go, too! We can't wait to meet our little future NBA star. The doctor has reassured us that our baby will be a long one, but of course we kind of guessed that already. ;) So with this blog, not only can I cross one more thing off of my list, but Matt and I can keep family and friends up to date on our soon to be family of three! We hope you enjoy our future updates! There have been many requests to see pictures of Bennett's nursery, so here you go!
